Ain’t it cool have just released an interview with key artist Christopher Swift and model shop supervisor David Merritt from a visit to Stan Winston Studio.  It is quite a tech-heavy discussion but really gets down to the nitty gritty of how the suit we see in the film came into being.  If thats your thing enjoy….

Chevy Volt at White Sands – an Autobot? September 25th, 2008

Dee has sent TLAMB this shot of the Chevy Corvette and Volt in White Sands, taken on a cell phone. After the scenes on Queensway bridge and subsequent official statements, it was thought that the Volt was not an autobot – however, if this was the case, why paint it in such a brilliant purple/blue and transport it to White Sands, which is the movie equivalent of Egypt!?

Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, Ratchet and Ironhide at White Sands September 25th, 2008

TLAMB’s Anonymous source that provided a set report has returned with the promised pictures of Bumblebee, Ratchet, Optimus Prime and Ironhide. None of the new autobots were on show however.

The set report:
- The core cast is at the location, Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson
- Today they shot a fight scene at a desert set similar to one from the first movie.
- Extras on set comprised of various needs including a “Strike Force” and Jordanian soldiers.
- Heard rumor that Julie White and Kevin Dunn (Sam’s parents) where also on the White Sands set.
- Additionally heard that TF2 may film in Ruidoso which is about 30 minutes from Alamogordo. Ruidoso is in the mountains surrounded by a dense forest.

ET and The Insider’s Transformers 2 Set Visit September 25th, 2008

A terrible feature made only to exploit the popularity of Transformers, in the end revealing very little whilst littering our heads with movie buzzwords, attempting to create hype without delivering the dirt. Watch those F16s… over and over again, be sure to mute that presenter though.

The Insider
were also there for more of the same. What’s with the music playing ALL THE WAY THROUGH. Terrible television.

Hasbro Summit: Corvette is Sideswipe September 23rd, 2008

In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Hasbro recently held their licensing summit and with it a number of key Transformers 2 character details emerged.

Sideswipe

The real name for the Chevy Corvette Centennial is in fact “Sideswipe”.

Ravage

The Ravage character was confirmed as having a “very raw beast mode”. Rumors suggest that the mechanized creature seen in one of PhillyFilmGirl’s videos is this character, rather than Frenzy. Although I do have some doubts.

Devastator

“Merging toys” confirmed the appearance of a “super-sized” transformer that combines multiple toys, likely to retail for +$50. Is this the rumored Devastator?
