A short while back we mentioned that the History Channel would be airing an hour long feature on the history of Batman, come July 16th. This documentary, entitled “Batman Unmasked — The Psychology of The Dark Knight”, aired last night and has promptly been uploaded to YouTube in five parts, strung together in the playlist below — catch it while you can:

Chicago’s Dark Knight Gala

YouTube user Directorian has posted a video of The Dark Knight gala which took place in Chicago. Whilst the gala featured a screening of the movie, this video only shows us the introduction with the stars along with the Visionary Award 2008 — which went to Christopher Nolan.

In his acceptance speech Nolan explains why he chose to shoot in Chicago and a little bit about his experiences with shooting in the IMAX format, before thanking the WB and of course his mom.

Heath Ledger tipped for Posthumous Oscar

It seems like this is the story many television stations are picking up and running with, it’s a little bit early for us fans to determine whether Heath should be considered for an Oscar or not (with the exception of those already lucky enough to have seen the movie), but the signs are certainly encouraging — from what we have seen and heard and from what the critics tell us. Below are a selection of videos echoing the distinct possibility of a posthumous Oscar nomination — it would be the first win in thirty years (EDIT: Correcting 30 years fact, thanks Nick):

Comcast Launch Dark Knight Site

Comcast have unveiled a Dark Knight themed flash based website, complete with posters and screensaver downloads, in a similar vein to the official site, but all the same slightly different! Thanks Csram

Here is our first look at the six part straight to DVD anime that fills in the gaps between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Far from a teaser trailer, this is a ten minute “premiere” with a lot of background on the Batman character and the thoughts behind its creation.
