Charlie Clausen as The Prince? April 17th, 2007

19 year old Australian Charlie Clausen has been reported as the lead in the video game adaptation which could be his first big hollywood break. This report seems to have come from an Australian magazine called “Hyper”. IMDb currently lists Clausen as attached and no confirmation of his role in the movie exists. However many websites including IGN are stating this as fact, which remains to be seen — some of his IMDb profile shots do bear a resemblance to the Prince.

What the bloody hell??? He’s not even a little middle eatern looking, the bloke’s from Australia! At least get some actor from Turkey, or that sexy arabian fellow from the Mummy.

Mark June 7th, 2007

I agree, terrible choice of actor if the rumour is true. Now David Belle, he would be a good choice, since he created Parkour which is widely known to be shown in the movie.David Belle has the pefect look for the prince, in my opinion.

yunan July 27th, 2007

I think orlando bloom is the perfect choosen for this prince of persia character. because of the succesful of pirate of carribean trilogy and LOTR trilogy. I hope the director making good decision for prince character…

Pimp_of_Persia July 31st, 2007

I Totaly Agree with Mark. David Belle is best fit for the movie. especialy with his experience with parkour
give him long hair, blue lenzes and a good beard shave et Voila

Ean August 5th, 2007

I agree David Belle would be perfect for the prince in that he knows Parkour, but theres a lot of other people out there that know Parkour that look more like the prince.

Ean August 5th, 2007

This guy does look like the prince, and hes young enough to be the prince. Look at the prince in the picture above he doesn’t look arabian at all or even middle eastern he just has a tan, getting some one real arabian like the gut in the Mummy 2 would look teriable couse thats not what the prince looked like in the game, besides Persians are not really dark there more white.

blessmark August 28th, 2007

Look at John Abraham. An bollywood actor is born to part indian and part Persian descendants. As good experience in acting in international arena with movie called “water”. he has lot of fan sites . It looks perfect for role with perfect looks, physique, taekawndo and acting experience.

I love the prince’s portrayal in Warrior Within…maybe Colin Farrel can do the job?
Who the hell is david belle anyway ?

Rick September 4th, 2007

As a big fan of the videogames I’m really excited by the fact they are making a movie. But that guy cannot play the part, as a previous post said, hes doesn’t even look the part. My thoughts on who should play the Prince: the actor from “Heroes” that plays Dr.Sharesh. Let me know if you agree with me

enrique September 20th, 2007

No this cant be he doesn’t even look like the prince maybe whats his face from the mummy is the closest thing to the prince, in my opinion and the actor should be somewhere from persia or close to their

erick September 21st, 2007

If this rumor is true its a better idea just to do the movie in cg(computer Graphics) if they can’t find some one that looks alike just do it that way and there will be no arguments on the movie Duh!!!

Flabber-gastted October 4th, 2007

Exactly! C’mon the game isn’t called the ‘Prince of Modern America’ is it? Get a real arabian to do the acting! Remember the awesome bod and the hair, AND PLEASE DON’T SAY FARAH IS AN CAUCASIAN TOO!

Shady October 9th, 2007

Well I think
Charlie Clausen is good for the prince character

Nav October 15th, 2007

hmm, yeh maybe, he does have the acrobatic skills required for the character role, but the look is not quite there, i seriously think that this is going to go badly though. Personally i think they should make it as a really gud CGS movie.

nathan November 17th, 2007

you might object to this. But what if Brendan Fraser. Be the Prince? He has the body the prince in my view and he is kind of taned anyway.

Farhan November 18th, 2007

ai haramir bachchare kun chudir bhai nise! I mean he doesnt fit in this role. I think the hero from “Phone Booth” or Tom Cruise will suit much better. Please change this amatuer looking Australian and take someone else.

pop December 5th, 2007

No white people in these roles please, and I’m a white guy!

DarkDJ December 7th, 2007

JOHN ABRAHAM IS PERFECT FOR THE PRINCE CHARACTER

Pricey9000 December 15th, 2007

I simply can’t imagine this guy as the Prince of Persia he just doesn’t have that angry, driven by redemption look about him. They would have to completely change this guys look, for starters he doesn’t even look persian its rediculous. I know they will have to have someone who is skilled at base jumping but they could always get a double for that. I think that they should cast John Abraham or someone similar simply because he looks like the prince. I edited his photo on photoshop onto the Princes body and what do you know the guy is perfect.

Psygnosis December 18th, 2007

Oh please for the love of god, i’d rather have a American actor rather than a Indian or Arabian actor.. First of all Persians are neither, so if a Indian or Arabian actor does their role, it must feel like a massive boost for their self esteem.

Why not better get a proper Persian from Iran to do the acting.. like this guy Mohammad Reza Golzar

http://www.flashista.com/Main/Gallery/Actor/Mohammadreza%20Golza/Mohammadreza%20Golzar%20(1).jpg

LoKi December 19th, 2007

hmm this guy just might do you never know.…i mean look at orlando bloom in LOTR then Pirates.…he looks pretty dam different.…so if they have a decent makeup department then maybe he will acctually look like the prince.…theres been heaps of the actors that took on roles that they don’t make eg: dustmen hofem as captain hook.…i still don;t believe thats him!

LoKi December 20th, 2007

one more thing.…how bout eva green for phara.….she the chick from cascino royal

prince_of_persia_game_master January 5th, 2008

hei, he is so not the prince, i have all the games and i’m a big fan, but if he gona be the prince i’m going crazy and stoping to be a fan, put olando bloom in the caracter as the prince. he need to look dangerus and not like a person that can’t hurt a mouse. if any agree with me so say it

Marselus January 13th, 2008

NEVER!
HE DOESNT LOOK NOTHIN LIKE THE PRINCE

Dude January 21st, 2008

Dude’s do any of you know anything about Hollywood or film making? didn’t think there was many, I’m sure they’ll make a really good movie or god forbid…(a totally shit one).

DAVID BELLE? come on people, he would be good but he doesn’t speak one bit of English and he’s movies aren’t exactly the best acting I’ve ever seen.

MY pick.…
Well don’t paticularly care Orlando Bloom would be good but..The Australian might just be the best for the job.
And please people enough with wanting some real Persian to do it , that wont quiet work out for the best.

And to add this skin colour debate; does anyone know what colour a 15th century Persia skin actually is? It ain’t exactly black or really that tan, so stop arguing about crap.

Kelt January 26th, 2008

If you think, thet it easy to learn make tricks like prince, you wrong. Maybe he looks like him, but it will be to hard you now. To my mind, David Bal’ — is perfect for this role.

calin February 14th, 2008

i think that this actor would be perfect for the prince of persia role .…the ones which say that he isn’t proper are idiots ‚frustrated, invidious and subjective.Charlie Clausen with long hair and a litle stash would be absolutely perfect for the role.….orlando bloom is not even close maybe if we are to take another actor that would definitely be the actor which played as Aragorn(the king)in the lord of the rings;else Charlie would be perfect and by the way he doesn’t look soft but athletic and fit (exactly what the prince should be)

charlie February 23rd, 2008

Charlie Clausen is a great choice if he can do the le parkour.
He perfekt in age and look!

pingo March 14th, 2008

look at princes face his cruel he wants blood actor must have similar face this guy from ausrtalia it doesnt matter doesnt fit even not from asia or persia oh well what can we do about it but the fact this movie will rock :D

Vipin Trisal March 19th, 2008

Charlie is a good choice but John would have been a better one.….he has got looks, has been good in action movies with his slender n sleek phyique, well lets see how the project goes.….

Mia March 20th, 2008

In my opinion i think that the only actor that would be perfect as Prince is Jared Leto (from 30 Seconds to Mars)! Damn the guy would have to work out a bit before starting the shooting but then i guess he would fit just perfectly.
I wish they choosed Jared for the role cuz not only is he talented but also resembles the Prince a lot!

reflect169 March 25th, 2008

Personaly i’m going for a Heroes character myself, though i see Milo Ventimiglia(Peter Petreli) in the part, not Dr Suresh (think he’s a little dark)!~ I think he’s got the face to pull it off, but the eyes could be a slight problem, ah well…

He’s got the body for it, he could build up perfectly. His face isn’t quite as gaunt as ‘The Prince’, but with his mixed background i feel he’d be a good choice.

Not sure about Orlando Bloom, I like the guy, but find him a little to caucasian looking.

GonnaKilluifthisfsup March 26th, 2008

Dont mess this up… I will be very picky about this movie, I will look at EVERY detail from head to toe, and the only reason I am doing this is, because I have never Loved anything more then the prince of persia trilogy, and if they mess this up, I will never forgive Jerry BruckHeimer

PoPito April 27th, 2008

I am a great fan of Prince of Persia, and i think that the best way to do this, is not witha movieStar, is with the best persons who fits the PRINCE role; maybe arabic, maybe not, but we need to feel he is the prince, and this Charlie Clausen i think hes not the one.

Beki May 17th, 2008

I think If you ever herd about a guy named Tarkan… hi is the best for the actor for the prince hi is perfect for this role. he is a turkish singer or what ever is…:) i’m sorry for my bad english see ya

Happy penguin May 31st, 2008

Hey here’s a thought — It would be a really good idea to use an actual ‘persian’ or someone who looks persian (iranian) to play the role as the prince of persia, and when i say persian i don’t mean arab or indian cause they AREN’T the same thing. Otherwise they should get someone arab, indian, european, or whoever who atleast looks persian. If they don’t pay attention to something like picking the right type of cast for the film then i don’t care who they are, obviously they don’t put a great deal of time into research. That being said, love the work thank you :)

Makavelli September 3rd, 2008

David Krumholtz would be a good choice (from the series Numb3rs — even there he looks like a prince). Although he’s a Jew, I think, but who gives a fuck :) :) :) . My next choice would definitely be John Goodman or Danny de Vito :) :) :) . Hehe, imagine that shit goin’ on :) . Somebody said Orlando Bloom… Fuck that shit! The last thing this movie needs is some quasi-mega-fuckin’-star who’s gonna put his shadow over entire goddamn movie! Like I said… David Krumholtz! Either him or Clint Eastwood :)

sal January 17th, 2009

well,i think for this movie i mean prince of persia they should choose and persian actor who can speak english and farsi, native one
im sure of they look more they can find
the last prince of persia game is showing and old ancient persian land and if you listen carfully when the prince using the plates thers a female voice who is saying “PARVAZ“means fly in farsi or “DASTAM RA BEGIR” means hold my hand
in holywood acters i think Antonio Banderas looks more like persian

LOLOLOLOL August 17th, 2009

LOLOL he not 19!!!! tsk tsk tsk, if this is “reliable information” then yes, he “is” doing the movie — in tripiddy trip trip land!
