Were can we be able tgo pre-order this?

Tim September 27th, 2008

You can pre-order it anywhere. The Batpod case could be a WB exclusive though. I’m not bothering with the pre-order. I’m going to wait until I see which retail store has the best exclusives.

Tim September 27th, 2008

Hopefully that first disc special feature is like 3 hours long. I’m shocked at the lack of features. I’ve already got the Tech of Batman and the Psychology of the Dark Knight on DVD. They should put all of the viral marketing videos on the 2nd disc. Hopefully, some retailer will have an exclusive bonus disc or something.

isi123 September 27th, 2008

I’m really annoyed about the features. I expected so much more! Grrrrrrr.

Jesse September 27th, 2008

Who cares, I just want my hands on that DVD. As long, as I get to see Heath as the Joker over and over again. Nothing else matters :)

OYD September 29th, 2008

phh! I hate blue-ray! more money for just a SLIGHTLY better picture! tell me when the DVD comes out!

MST September 29th, 2008

Where did you find these? They look kinda fake to me.

BatGirl567 September 30th, 2008

THese are amazing!! Where did you get them? I really hope they cram it full of viral marketing and extra features. I am SOO getting my hands on the special edition. And maybe the regular as well. Just to look at. Will they have a Über-Special edition two pack with batman begins? Or are they really going to make a third?

Jake N October 2nd, 2008

I agree. I hate blueray. I will never buy the blueray player b/c it is delibrately made to make dvds look bad.
I hope the dvds have the same joker covers.
I really wanted director commentary.

The Joker October 3rd, 2008

Well. The dark knight was the best movie ever made. I just hope that in the future when they make a batman movie with the joker in it agin, that he does look like he did in this one. The joker lives on!!!!!!

Glenn October 4th, 2008

these have been floating around for a while. don’t have a Blu Ray player, and don’t know if i want one. maybe i could splurge and get one for Christmas. but if i don’t, i hope the Batpod replica comes with both the DVD and Blu Ray versions. and yeah, i wish they would add all the killer viral stuff to the second disk. like the I Believe in Harvey Dent stuff. i was lucky to be involved in a few of the viral stuff, and there were cameramen with professional-grade equipment filming the events. why can’t that video be put on this DVD?

Chico October 6th, 2008

People are complaining about the specail features but guys stop looking at Disc 2 read the Disc 1 section thats were the never before shown specail features are and Disc 2 is all the other documentarys and viral stuff.

tyler October 6th, 2008

yeah and I’ve already pre ordered but just be glad that it was a great movie.

Tim October 7th, 2008

@OYD

Blu Ray has slightly better picture?? More like amazing picture quality that’s 5x better than standard DVD.

Frank October 9th, 2008

Tim,
I absolutely agree with you about the blu-ray being 5x better then DVD. Especially for movies just like this one. The picture quality is so much better and the surround sound will sound so good. Anyone that says blu-ray is just alittle better has either never seen blu-ray or has watched it on the wrong T.V.

OYD October 25th, 2008

Shut up, Tim

Déjà October 28th, 2008

To all the little kiddies saying they will never buy Blu Ray, stop acting like you can even afford it, and buy affording it I mean having to save multiple checks to do so. Its better quality hands down, maybe you were unable to see it to the fullest without an HDTV I can see how you were fooled. I myself cannot wait to see Heathes Joker in high Def, I was disappointed that there arent any features that delve deeper into the Jokers Psychi. Would be very much interesting to see but oh well CANT WAIT!

The Dark Knight Soundtrack “Pre-order online Now”

The package is crazy, with a stupid price! “only $39.99” I had to put my order in.

The new package contains 50 additional minutes of unreleased music from the movie, and 4 unreleased remixes by The Crystal Method, Paul Van Dyk, and others, as well as a 40 page book of stills from the motion picture! Limited quantities are being made (I think about 9,000 worldwide)

Anyone who says blu ray is only *slightly better* hasn’t seen good blu ray. If you don’t have an HDTV with the blu ray player then it isn’t doing anything at all (literally). Also, you need an HDMI cord to get the full effect, but the full effect is definitely better. No doubt that the sound and picture is better, even on your standard dvd. And to Jake, the fact that blu ray was made “to purposely make dvd’s look bad”? That would mean that blu rays were made ‘to look better than dvd’s.’ well I certainly hope so.

ross December 7th, 2008

Agreed. Anyone who says blu-ray is “only slightly better” has never seen a good blu-ray transfer on a good HDTV or is just still mad that HD-DVD lost the format war. By the way, it’s not 5 times better than standard DVD. It’s 6.75 times better.

blu-ray (1080p): 1920 x 1080 = 2,073,600 pixels
DVD (480i): 640 x 480 = 307,200 pixels

Slight difference. Saying that it’s only “slightly better” is roughly equivalent to saying a modern WUXGA monitor (widescreen, 1920x1200) is only “sligtly better” than a VGA monitor (4:3, 640x480.)

Also, blu-ray players aren’t THAT expensive anymore. I got mine for $4.50 (yes, four dollars and fifty cents) with the purchase of my TV. Even without a combo deal, you can still get them south of $200. DVD players were more expensive than that for quite a while.
